Simple Minds

Since his first live appearance with the band at the Fête de l’Humanité festival in Paris in September 2010, Ged has established himself as a key member of Scotland’s most successful group. Named after a lyric – ‘So simple minded’ to be exact – from David Bowie‘s seminal 1972 single The Jean Genie, Simple Minds evolved out of Johnny & the Self Abusers, the ‘rank and file’ punk group Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill formed in Glasgow in April 1977. “Walk Between Worlds” the group’s most recent release, is the group’s 18th studio album and Ged is now Simple Minds longest-serving bassist.
